Heather Wyrick has been with KME since 2007. She began as a pubic school teacher in Southern California and was looking for way to move to our beautiful state while also continuing to teach children. Heather graduated with a B.A. in Liberal Studies and minored in Theatre Arts. She completed her teaching credential and Masters in Education at UC Davis and also holds a current MT K-8 teaching certificate. Her desire to meet and impact every student at his/her own level and her curiosity about Montessori drew her to KME. She has since completed both Montessori Elementary I and Elementary II credentials. Heather has also enjoyed working with children over the summer, providing tutoring, as well as soccer and drama camps through Woodland Montessori’s summer camp program. Heather lives in the Flathead Valley with her two beautiful daughters, Aurora and Brooke. Tracy Stoick- Administrators Assistant Tracy has been with Kalispell Montessori Elementary since 2014. She moved to Kalispell when she was 6 years old. Grew up on a ranch west of town. Married David Stoick and has one son, Nicholas. Tracy has lived in the Flathead Valley for the past 42 years. She worked at Stillwater Christian School and Kootenai Valley Christian School the last 7 years as a Para Professional before coming to Kalispell Montessori Elementary School. Before starting a school career she owned and operated Stoick Travel Planning for 6 years. She loves to travel and spend time hunting and fishing with her husband and son. Elementary I Teaching Staff
Angela Hong joined KME in 2013 after spending 9 years at Woodland Montessori where she was a certified 3-6 Early Childhood teacher. In her past life, she ran her own business as a residential designer. She received her bachelor’s in architecture from California Polytechnic San Luis Obispo in 1995, with a minor in psychology. She then went on to the University of Oregon for her master’s in architecture, focusing on Sustainability and Children’s Spaces. After her oldest son enrolled in Montessori in early 2004, Angela found a passion for Montessori. She enrolled her youngest son (age 2 at the time) a few months later, and she began working at the school herself. She took her Early Childhood Training in 2006 from Montana Montessori Teacher Education Institute, where she is currently a teacher trainer. Angela took the first portion of her Elementary I Montessori training in 2013, and complete her training in the summer of 2014. Elementary II Teaching staff
David Cummings has been with KME since 2001. He began as an assistant to Terry in the Elementary II classroom. In the summer of 2002 he traveled to New York to receive 6-12 training at the Center for Montessori Teacher Education (now known as CME) and is certified by AMS. He has been teaching with Terry in the EII classroom ever since. David received his bachelor's degree in biochemistry from MSU-Bozeman in 1997 where he met his lovely wife. Together they joined Peace Corps in 1999 and taught ESL in Morocco. In high school he was a foreign exchange student to Latvia through the AFS Intercultural Program and continues to volunteer for them. David grew up in the Flathead Valley and loves living among family. He has two daughters, both in Montessori, and an inexplicable passion for bird hunting.
Terry Welder has Early Childhood and Elementary 6-12 Certification in Montessori Education. He also has K-12 Teaching Certification for the State of Montana and Guidance and Counseling Certification for the State of Montana. He holds a B.A. and an M.A. in English. Terry has worked as a teacher and administrator at Kalispell Montessori Center for more than 35 years and is lead curriculum advisor. He was a long standing member of the Glacier Institute Board and he works part time as a curriculum development specialist for the education book Work House which has received National Awards from the Department of the Interior and from the Council for American Indian Interpretation. In addition to serving as a teacher trainer on Montana Montessori Teacher Education Institute staff and other Montessori training centers,Terry is a Montessori School Consultant. He also serves as an accreditation consultant for The American Montessori Society (AMS) and for The Montessori Accreditation Council for Teachers of Education (MACTE).
